Ali Mansour, a Path of Success

(MENAFN- Discovery Corporate) When it comes to Lebanese basketball, it is no doubt that Ali Mansour is among the most remarkable and prominent players who have ever played and represented their country both nationally and internationally.
Ali Mansour, who started playing basketball at the age of 10, plays today for Al-Riyadi Club and the Lebanese National Team. However, what sets Ali apart from other players is all the successes that he was able to accomplish and the obstacles that he was able to overcome at a very young age. At the age of 16, he was granted the opportunity to get a scholarship in the United States of America to obtain his high school diploma while competing against other high school teams in Genesis Academy in Lynchburg, Virginia. During his first year in the States, Ali demonstrated nothing but his great abilities and skills in playing Basketball which earned him the chance to get another scholarship at Conrad Academy in Orlando, Florida. The following year, the Lebanese player had to come back to his homeland in order to join its national team and compete in the Arab Championship and Asia Cup. In the U16 Arab Championship, Ali Mansour played a major role in qualifying the Lebanese National Team to the final game against Egypt. In the U17 Arab Championship and for the 2nd consecutive year, Ali qualified his team to the finals and was named as the MVP of the tournament. Moreover, he played in the U18 Asia Cup and had a huge role in qualifying his team to be among the final 4 teams. He was also named among the top 5 players of the tournament.
With his achievements getting bigger, Ali gained more fame and although he started receiving too many tempting offers from Division 1 teams in Lebanon, he chose to stay at Hoops Club where he first started playing Basketball and he led the team to many victories as he showed tremendous potential in his first year of playing professionally. With that, Ali Mansour re-signed with Hoops Club for a 2nd consecutive year, rejecting all the contracts and offers that he had received from the biggest clubs in Lebanon at the time as he decided to stay at Hoops. So, once again, he led the team to numerous important wins in the Lebanese Championship and was able to earn his team the 2nd place in Hariri Tournament in addition to him winning the MVP title of the tournament. Afterwards, Ali played the Dubai Championship and qualified his team to be among the final 4 teams for the second time, but unfortunately they lost the semi-finals to Al-Riyadi Club while he got a triple double in his game. Following this game in Dubai, he was approached by Al-Gharafa team in Qatar, who offered him the opportunity to join them in the final 4 to help them win the championship.
Upon his return to Lebanon from Qatar, Ali Mansour received the greatest offer from Al-Riyadi Club which is considered to be the best team in Lebanon and Asia. At the same time, he received an offer from the Iraqi team Naft Al Shamal which he accepted and left to Iraq where he earned many victories for his team. Then, he returned to Lebanon to play with Al-Riyadi Club leading the way for the team to win the Eurasian League in Armenia, where he was awarded the turnament’s best point guard. This was not Ali Mansour’s only achievement with Al-Riyadi; he also made his team win the Lebanese Championship.
As for this year, Ali is currently playing in the semi-finals games with Al-Riyadi and aiming to win the championship again for the year 2022 along with his team.
