(MENAFN- Khaama Press)

Local Taliban officials in Uruzgan province report that they have apprehended a man accused of murdering his uncle in the province's Deh Rawood district.

A man named Akbar had been arrested for the murder of his uncle, Abdul Qahar, according to Mohammad Asif, the Taliban's Director of Information and Culture for Uruzgan province.

He went on to explain that Akbar murdered his uncle before throwing him down a well.

The Taliban's Director of Information and Culture stated that he was informed about the murder by locals and that the culprit is now arrested.

The prevalence and occurrence of such events, as well as the increase in family tensions, have increased in recent months, but no research has been conducted on the matter.

Some people blame and hold the Taliban responsible for domestic violence and honor killings, claiming that the presence of the Taliban has provided those who perpetrate murder and domestic violence more space.
