Algeria selects new intelligence president
(MENAFN) Algeria selected a new leader of the nation’s foreign intelligence service.
Major General Jamal Kahal was choosen as the Director General of the Documents and External Security (Foreign Intelligence), instead of Maj. Gen. Noureddine Makri, according to the Defense Ministry.
In line with the declaration, army leader Lt. Gen. Said Chanegriha commanded the foreign intelligence service to represent “the highest degree of professionalism in performing the assigned tasks, as well as redoubling efforts to eliminate the security challenges created by the rapid transformations at the regional and international levels.”
Kahal used to be the director of presidential security for a long time in the era of previous Leader Abdelaziz Bouteflika ahead of his release in July 2015.
