BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 22 . The World Bank (WB)
has mobilized more than $3 billion to provide economic assistance
to Ukraine to ensure the functioning of its key public services,
said on Thursday the president of the credit institution, David
Malpas, during a discussion at the spring session of the governing
bodies of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank,
Trend reports citing TASS.
'At the moment, we have mobilized more than $3 billion for
Ukraine in order to continue the functioning of key public
services,' he said.
According to the head of the WB, this was done through
gratuitous donations to a special fund from the US, UK, Norway,
Denmark, Austria, Latvia, Lithuania, Iceland, as well as guarantees
from the UK, the Netherlands and Sweden and parallel funding from
Japan.
