AZF engages special needs players in table tennis competitions

* Initiative organised as part of Aspire's Ramadan Sports Festival Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) organised on Monday evening a table tennis competition for people with special needs.
Held as part of AZF's Ramadan Sports Festival (RSF), the event provided an opportunity for all community members to take part in sporting activities during the holy month.
Some 42 participants competed in the one-day event across four categories: visual impairment, physical impairment (sitting), hearing impairment and mental impairment.
At the end of the matches, which lasted for four continuous hours, participant Abdul Rahman Qassem was able to bag the first place in the physical impairment category, (sitting) followed by Ahmed Issa in the second place and Abdul Rahman Abdul Qadir in the third place.
Meanwhile, Mustafa Ameen won the first place in the hearing impairment category, followed by Hamad Nasser AlSaadi in second and Alexander Ivanov in third.
In the visually impaired category, participant Abdul Rahman Sami won the top spot, while Ekrami Ahmad came in second and Hamad Ali al-Marri third.
In the mental impairment category, Khalifa Salem al-Nuaimi won the first place, with Mohamed Musa coming second and Salman al-Sharshani third.
