Mevlut Cavusoglu: Channels of talks with Greece to be more open


(MENAFN) According to Turkiye’s foreign minister, the channels of discussion with Greece are more open today since Turkiye achieve its tasks in this regard and waits for the same from the Athens government.

Moreover, while talking to the Political, Economic and Social Research Foundation (SETA) think tank based in Ankara, Mevlut Cavusoglu evaluated the mutual ties amid Turkiye and Greece.

On the words of Cavusoglu "We can say that the channels of dialogue with Greece are more open today than before,” referring to that Turkiye is in favor of a sincere talk to solve issues.

He as well emphasized: “The positive agenda focused on cooperation in the economy began to show its positive effects on bilateral trade in 2021 and increased by 70 percent compared to 2020 to reach USD5.2 billion,” adding that Ankara is trying to move the positive agenda in financial and commercial ties even further.

“We hope that this positive agenda will create an environment in which we can sincerely discuss our bilateral issues with Greece”.

He went on “We are doing our part in this direction. We expect Greece to show the same sincerity and the same political will in this process.”
