AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday held talks with sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
During the talks, held in Abu Dhabi, King Abdullah commended the deep-rooted brotherly ties between the two countries and peoples, expressing Jordan's solidarity with the United Arab Emirates against all threats to its security and stability, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Majesty reaffirmed his condemnation of the Houthi terrorist attacks on the UAE, stressing that the security of Jordan and the UAE is one and the same.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the King to the UAE, and conveyed the greetings of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The King asked Sheikh Mohamed to convey his greetings to Sheikh Khalifa, expressing best wishes to him.
Sheikh Mohamed commended Jordan's solidarity and strong condemnation of the terrorist attacks against the UAE, stressing that Jordan's position is in line with the Kingdom's honourable positions with its brethren and friends throughout its history.
In addition, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi congratulated His Majesty and Her Majesty Queen Rania on being named the 2022 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity honourees, in recognition of their efforts and initiatives to support peace, harmony, and coexistence in the region and the world.
Discussions also covered regional and international developments, with the two sides stressing the need to maintain coordination and consultation on issues of mutual concern, in service of the two countries and peoples.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan and Jordan's Ambassador to the UAE Nassar Habashneh attended the talks on the Jordanian side.
On the UAE side, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, and a number of senior officials were in attendance.
