China slams US for its military transfer to Taiwan
(MENAFN) China slammed the US military transfer to Taiwan on Wednesday, stating it is going to seek efforts to protect the nation's local security.
China’s Defense Ministry stated in a declaration that “The Peoples Liberation army will take all necessary measures to safeguard national Sovereignty and territorial integrity, thwart external interference and secessionist attempts, and promote reunification.”
Washington authorized a new USD100 million purchase of gear and services to Taiwan on Monday, intended to boost the self-ruled island country's weaponry defense capabilities.
The agreement is going to contain engineering “services support, designed to sustain, maintain, and improve” the Patriot Air Defense System for the land; as mentioned by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
In a statement DSCA remarked: “The proposed sale will help improve the security of the recipient (Taiwan) and assist in maintaining political stability, military balance, economic and progress in the region.”
