Swedish intelligence service investigates case of hovering drones


(MENAFN) On Monday, Sweden’s local security agency reported that it controlled the initial probe regarding hovering drones on top of the nation’s three nuclear energy factories.

Police mentioned earlier that two drones were witnessed above two nuclear factories, Forsmark, north of Stockholm, and Oscarshamn in the southeast. SAPO, the intelligence services in Sweden, stated that a drone was located above Ringhals which is the third nuclear energy facility. It is the biggest between them and resides in the western coast of the nation.

There are no suspects till now, police reported.

SAPO included in an update, “With regard to the cases of drone overflights at three nuclear power plants, the assessment is made that they are of such a nature that preliminary investigations have been taken over from the police authority in order to be able to investigate the incidents in more detail.”
