Turkey’s furniture sector records USD6B in exports


(MENAFN) According to the head of the Furniture Industry Businessmen Association (MOBSAD), Turkey’s furniture sector, which concludes the previous year with exports valued at USD4.3 billion, and is planning to hit USD6 billion during this year.

Based on Nuri Gurcan statement to Anadolu Agency, sector exports jumped 26.4 percent in this year from 2020, and also effortlessly surpassed the 2019 level before the pandmeic of USD3.5 billion.

The price for one kilogram in the sector's exports is about USD3 and can jump to USD10 for members of the industry group, he stated, mentioning: "For value-added exports, raw materials should be presented to the furniture industry on the domestic market instead of being exported."

Gurcan stated, to help in reaching this goal, the nation should employ raw material export limits in 2022, which has been named as the "year of exports."
