Somalia intends to contain political fight with its new scheme

(MENAFN) Somalia intends to conquer the continuing political conflict in the nation with its tribe-based electoral scheme, referred to as the “4.5 system.”

Somalia, which is scrambling with drought, terrorism, as well as economic problems, has been incapable of finishing the electoral process because of political rows between the central government as well as the state governments, and between the ruler along with the prime minister.

According to a Somali political scientist statement to a news agency, "there are two forces contributing to the election stalemate; The first is President (Mohamed Abdullahi) Farmajo, whose term ended in early 2021, and the second is the heads of federal states who apparently support Farmajo and jeopardize the process in favor of the president."
