IMF inspects Lebanon’s economic industry losses

(MENAFN) According to an IMF spokesperson statement on Thursday, amidst continuing discussions on a new funding plan, the IMF is observing data from Lebanon’s government regarding economic industry losses, projected at around USD69 billion.

Based on IMF spokesman Gerry Rice announcement to reporters referring to the data submitted this week by Beirut, “I’d say there’s been considerable progress in identifying financial sector losses.”

Deputy Prime Minister Saade Chami stated to AFP that officials have approved that economic industry losses stand at “around USD69 billion,” even though he labelled that as a projection that may vary.

Rice stated that the crisis lender based in Washington is “now assessing the government’s announced figures, and we’ll continue our discussions with the authorities in the context of the engagement.”
