Iran’s Golestan province exports increase to 63 percent


(MENAFN) According to an Iranian provincial official, the Golestan province exports worth, located in northern Iran, increased 63 percent during the period from March 21 till November 21 of the present Iranian calendar year, in comparison to the corresponding time frame of last year.

The director-general of the province’s customs department, Ebrahim Hosseini has stated that 263.824 million tons of goods that value USD110.57 million were exported from the province in the mentioned period, marking also 140 percent rise regarding weight on an annual basis.

He mentioned polystyrene, cheese, iodine, cement, dates as well as hydrocarbons as the major exported products and Kazakhstan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Bulgaria and Afghanistan as the main export places.

The official also declared that 10.897 million tons of goods that value more than USD34 million were imported to the region during the period of first eight months of the year, marking 151 percent, and 33 percent increase in value and weight, in that order.
