Average income for Ukrainians surpasses USD500 in 2021


(MENAFN) Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that in 2021, unprecedentedly in around 30 years, the monthly income of Ukrainian individuals in US dollar surpasses USD500.

The president reported in his yearly declaration to the Verkhovna Rada while reviewing the condition of the nation internally and externally, mentioned a Ukrinform reporter.

He announced, “From today, December 1, the minimum wage in Ukraine totals 6,500 hryvnias. Not only have we raised the minimum wage, this year the average monthly wage has exceeded USD500 in dollar equivalent for the first time in the past 30 years.”

From 1 December, as the Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2021” contains, the subsistence level for individuals who cannot work anymore grew from USD67.93 to USD70.84, amounting for the foundation of recalculating these elements of pension advantages which backs on the subsistence level.
