SCFO Calls on UAE Residents to Vote for Sharjah in UNICEF Child Friendly Cities Awards 2021

Sharjah, November 9, 2021

Sharjah Child Friendly Office (SCFO), an affiliate of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), has launched a campaign themed 'Vote for Sharjah, Vote for UAE' as part of their participation at the ongoing 40th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), in Expo Centre Sharjah. 

The campaign is aimed at encouraging UAE residents to vote for Sharjah, as the emirate has entered the running for UNICEF Child Friendly Cities and Local Governments Inspire Awards 2021. SCFO's Sharjah Child Friendly Project has been nominated for the prestigious global award in the Child Friendly Governance category. The award's winners will be selected based on public voting.

SCFO has urged all citizens and residents, including men, women, youth, children and the differently abled, in the UAE as well as abroad, to vote for Sharjah.

Voting ends on November 14, 2021.

SCFO is also organising activities to encourage individuals and entities to share information on the 'Vote for Sharjah, Vote for UAE' campaign, and attract the participation of the public of all age groups, nationalities and cultures.

UNICEF's Child Friendly Cities and Local Governments Inspire Award is the world's most prestigious award that honours innovative initiatives in six categories. The UAE participated in the inaugural edition in 2019, with Sharjah Baby Friendly Project supporting breastfeeding winning the award in the Child Friendly Social Services category.
