This Expo 2020, MATI played a significant role in the construction of 12 pavilions, whereby the company sourced and supplied Engineered Mass Timber structures from Europe, in collaboration with local and international contractors, and applied it to the structures of the United Kingdom Pavilion, Oman, Azerbaijan and Belgium to name a few. In parallel, MATI provided Water Features, Landscaping and Vertical Farms and gardens to several other Pavilions.
MATI's achievements at Expo 2020 are the result of years of efforts in bringing European Suppliers to a region they had never set foot in, and securing business for them, amongst other lucrative services, the expertise of Sustainable Engineered Mass Timber Construction in the Middle East. In addition, thanks to a MENA partnership with a leading Italian bespoke steel manufacturer, MATI's work was awarded the world's largest public area automated shading at Expo 2020, as well as the precision mechanical positioning of the Solar Trees.
