Turkey's external assets reach USD297.4B by end of August

(MENAFN) Turkish Central Bank data stated that the country’s external assets amounted at USD297.4 billion by the end of August, increased 16.4 percent from the end of 2020.

Also in the same time span, liabilities against non-residents dropped 9.1 percent to USD589.7 billion.

The net international investment position (NIIP) – the gap amid Turkey’s external assets and liabilities – dropped to minus USD292.3 billion in August.

The NIIP stood at minus USD393.1 billion at the end of 2020.

The NIIP that can be either positive or negative is the value of foreign assets owned by a nation, minus the worth of domestic assets owned by foreigners, including overseas assets and liabilities held by a country’s government, the private sector, and its citizens.
