Mali: French soldiers killed in maintenance accident
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Oct. 13 the French military announced that a French soldier taking part in Operation Barkhane was killed in a maintenance accident in Mali.
Adrien Quelin, 29, passed away after the truck cabin collapsed while he was fixing the vehicle’s engine, Gen. Thierry Burkhard, chief of staff of French military, noted in a declaration.
The military stated that the accident took place in Mali’s Timbuktu locale on Tuesday.
The declaration added: “he was seriously injured. Despite the immediate care by the emergency services on the spot, he could not be saved. He died as a result of his injuries.”
