Greek Cypriot administration announces drilling program to explore hydrocarbon resources
(MENAFN) The president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus declared that it is “unacceptable” that the Greek Cypriots take individual steps in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Concerning the Greek Cypriot administration’s unilateral steps in exploration of hydrocarbon resources in the Eastern Mediterranean, the remarks by Ersin Tatar came.
Anadolu Agency quoted Tatar as saying that “These kinds of issues are handled though cooperation, solidarity, and law in the world. The Greek Cypriots should stay away from researching wealth without an agreement on (the island of) Cyprus.”
Tatar further declared that The Greek side’s attitude towards the exploration of hydrocarbon resources is not “correct,” adding that such probes are risky without an agreement on Cyprus.
