Greece’s economy expands 16.2 pct Apr.-Jun. period year on year


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Sep. 7 the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) stated in a temporary outlook that Greek economy grew 16.2 percent in the April-June period of 2021 year-on-year (y-o-y).

As the country came out of its second coronavirus curfew, its economy also logged a 3.4 percent quarterly expansion against the first quarter of the year.

Following a 2.3 percent y-o-y narrowing in the first quarter of this year, ELSTAT's adjusted data demonstrated a seven percent yearly economic growth in the first six months of 2021.

Greek administration’s prior official estimate, issued during April, stood at 3.6 percent expansion for the entire year.
