Countries update daily COVID-19 tallies

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- Governments around the world announced their daily coronavirus updates on Saturday as they continue to battle the impacts of the deadly pandemic.
Bahrain reported one new COVID-19 death, and 102 infections over the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health stated that the death toll rose to 1,386, while the recoveries have reached 269,127 patients after adding 165 today.
Lebanon listed four deaths, and 1,386 new infections in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health said that total fatalities increased to 8,008, and the caseload to 590,983 cases, while 544,863 patients were cured from the virus.
Morocco confirmed 90 new fatalities, and 6,513 infections over the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health stated that total deaths climbed to 11,677, and the caseload to 806,288 cases, while 9,761 patients were cured from the virus today to make the total recoveries 716,904.
Algeria reported 27 new coronavirus deaths, and 515 infections today.
The Ministry of Health said that total deaths rose to 4,984, and the infections to 191,171 cases, while 129,555 patients were cured from the virus after adding 486 today.
Syria recorded five virus-induced deaths, and 80 new infections in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health said that total fatalities rose to 1,964, and the infections to 26,799 cases, while 22,262 patients were cured from the virus after adding 19 today.
France listed 81 new fatalities, and 22,636 infections in the past 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health stated that the death toll increased to 113,267, and the caseload to 6,602,311 cases since the virus outbreak. (end)
