Reminiscing, Nazema said that she started dreaming of doing social work by observing the social situation created due to the cyclone of 1991. To that end, she joined an NGO in 1994.


Nazema has contributed to the development of women and children through her work. She also conducts various programs to increase awareness. She also gave various trainings to support women. In the nineties, when women were reluctant to leave their homes, she worked for the betterment of society.

She thinks: “Social work practice consists of the professional application of social work values, principles, and techniques to one or more of the following ends: helping people obtain tangible services; counseling and psychotherapy with individuals, families, and groups; helping communities or groups provide or improve social and health services; and participating in legislative processes.
