Heat wave to hit high of 43C in Greece

(MENAFN)Weather officials stated that a heat wave which has reached Greece previous week is likely to hit its highest on Saturday with temperatures rising to 43 C (109 F).
According to the Meteorological Service of the National Observatory of Athens, the temperature in Western Macedonia is going to rise to 38 C (100.4 F) but it is estimated to reach 41 C (105.8 F) in the rest of northern Greece.
In addition, Central Greece is anticipated to hit 43 C (110 F), Epirus 41 C (105.8 F) and the rest of the mainland 42 C (107.6 F). Also, on the Ionian Islands, the temperature may increase to 39 C (102.2 F).
Moreover, the meteorological body stated that African dust is going to increase in the atmosphere.
In last week, the heat wave that started moving into Greece from northern Africa encouraged experts to issue health safety rules, urging young children, the elderly, and people with health problems to prevent unnecessary exposure to the heat outside.
