Turkey: Exports to Libya increased 58 percent

(MENAFN)A top Turkish trade group on Saturday, May 15, stated that Turkey's exports to Libya increased 58 percent year-on-year in the first four months of this year to USD826 million.
Murtaza Karanfil, chairman of the Turkey-Libya Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) added that while Turkey's general exports augmented 33.1 percent this January-April, this upsurge in Libya hit 58 percent, approximately double the general regular.
In April alone, Karanfil told Anadolu Agency that exports to Libya skyrocketed 228 percent to USD263.3 million compared to the same period in 2020, revealing that brawny mutual relations are obviously being reflected in trade.
"We know that the Turkish private sector is enthusiastic about completing missing projects and taking part in new projects in Libya," he added, referring to work that had to be dumped due years of chaos in the North African country.
