Explosion inside mosque kills 12 people in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, May 14 (KUNA) -- At least 12 people were killed and over 15 others injuried in an explosion inside a mosque in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul on Friday, said the Kabul police.
A spokesman for the Kabul police, Ferdous Faramarz in a statement to the media said that the blast happened inside the mosque when people were gathering for Friday prayers on the second day of the Muslim religious festival Eid Al-Fitr.
The injured were shifted to the nearest medical facilities and an investigation into the incident went underway.
No group so far has claimed responsibility for the explosion but a Taliban rebel group in a statement to the media has denied involvement in the attack. (end)
