Pakistan- 3 soldiers martyred, 2 terrorists killed in North Waziristan IBO


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in North Waziristan tribal district on Wednesday during which two terrorists were killed.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the exchange of fire with the terrorists in Dosali area North Waziristan, an officer, identified as Captain Faheem, and two soldiers, identified as Sepoy Shafi and Sepoy Naseem, embraced martyrdom.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in separate statements expressed grief over the martyrdom of the security forces personnel in the operation. They prayed for the martyrs' elevation to higher ranks hereafter. They said the whole nation is proud of the sacrifices of the security forces.

The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also said the nation is proud of the sacrifices of soldiers for Pakistan.

Militants were driven out from the tribal districts in military operations, but still terrorists sometimes attack the security forces from their leftover hideouts. The security forces also conduct IBOs after receiving credible information about presence of militants to ward off any threat of attacks.

On April 13, a terrorist from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Shehryar Mehsud group was killed in an IBO in the Ladha area of South Waziristan.

According to ISPR, during intense exchange of fire, one terrorist, Peer alias Asad was killed. The killed terrorist was an active member of TTP since 2006.

On April 03, an active TTP terrorist Ashrafullah alias Toofani was killed in an operation by the security forces in North Waziristan.

According to ISPR, a sanitisation operation conducted in Boya area after reports were received about presence of terrorists. During intense exchange of fire, terrorist Ashrafullah alias Toofani, resident of Boya, was killed.

The ISPR said the killed terrorist remained involved in target killing, terrorist activities against security forces, extortion and planting improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

On March 06, eight terrorists were killed in clashes with the security forces in North Waziristan.

The military's media wing said the security forces carried out two operations in Boya and Dosali areas over the information of presence of terrorists. During the operations, eight terrorists, including a commander, were killed.

On March 05, three persons, including two militants, were killed, while one security personnel sustained injuries in firing incidents in North Waziristan .
