Habib Bank Limited opens subdivision in Beijing


(MENAFN)The first Pakistani bank has opened a subdivision in the Chinese capital Beijing, joining a little club of foreign banks that work in the country.

According to a report issued in Karachi on Monday, March 22, the Habib Bank Limited (HBL), one of Pakistan’s major private banks, has opened its subdivision in Beijing.

The opening ceremony, the report added, was attended by customers, controllers and senior bank managers, apart from Jameel Ahmad, the deputy director of the State Bank of Pakistan, who virtually joined the ceremony.

With the opening of the subdivision, the Habib Bank has become one of the three banks from South Asia and Middle East North Africa region to offer "end-to-end RMB intermediation" in China.
