Pakistan- Four soldiers martyred in South Waziristan clash


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Four soldiers were martyred in an attack by terrorists on a security forces post in South Waziristan tribal district on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces responded promptly to the attack and killed four of the attackers during the raid in the Makeen area.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Lance Naik Imran Ali, Sepoy Atif Jahangir, Sepoy Aneesur Rehman and Sepoy Aziz.

The ISPR said a clearance operation was also carried out in the area.

The security forces have recently stepped up operations against terrorists in areas near the Pak-Afghan border and several terrorists have been killed during these operations. Terrorists also launch attacks on the security forces in these areas from time to time.

On February 03, four terrorists were killed, while two soldiers were martyred during an operation in North Waziristan .

According to the ISPR, the security forces observed presence of terrorists in a compound in Mir Ali. 'As soon as the troops cordoned off the area, terrorists opened fire. During intense exchange of fire, four terrorists were killed,' the military's media wing said.

During the conduct of operation, Naib Subedar Aminullah and sepoy Sher Zamin embraced martyrdom, while four soldiers got injured.

February 01, three terrorists were killed in an IBO by the security forces to thwart an infiltration attempt by terrorists close to Pak-Afghan border in Lower Dir.

According to ISPR, an exchange of fire happened during the operation during which three terrorists were killed.

On January 21, the security forces during an IBO in Qaddafi area of Utmankhel tehsil in Bajaur tribal district killed two terrorists associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Official sources said the security forces conducted an operation over a secret information and killed two terrorists. According to the tip off, the terrorists were planning to move from one place to other for some terror planning. They were killed during exchange of fire with the security forces.

On January 18, two terrorists were killed , while another was injured during an IBO in Nargosa area of South Waziristan, the ISPR said.

On January 14, three soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred and two terrorists were killed during two separate IBOs on terrorists' hideouts in North Waziristan.
