Iran, Syria to establish Iran-Syria joint bank


(MENAFN)Head of Iran-Syria Joint Chamber of Commerce Keyvan Kashefi gathered with senior officials from the Syrian ministries of Finance, and Economy and Trade, in a visit to Damascus, in which both parties underlined accelerating the process for establishing an Iran-Syria joint bank.

Kashefi declared that “In order to increase economic exchanges, it is proposed to establish a joint bank to support economic activities so that businessmen on both sides can interact with local currencies of lira and rial.”

Implementation of a free trade deal and the reduction and elimination of customs tariffs were also amid the issues argued by both sides, according to the portal of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).

Kashefi highlighted the stated issues as the necessities for the improvement of economic relations between Iran and Syria.
