Vienna, Dec 30, 2020, SPA -- The international community will win the fight against the coronavirus if it takes the lessons of 2020 to heart, dpa cited the head of the World Health Organization (WHO) as saying in a video statement published on Wednesday.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said a decisive factor would be whether we would allow conspiracy theories and attacks of science to prevail, or whether we could master the last stretch of the crisis together.
In 2020, false information had led to unnecessary suffering, Ghebreyesus said. "There is light at the end of the tunnel," he added, pointing to the deployment of a vaccine and other efforts to defeat the pandemic that has gripped the world for the past year.
