Stimulants cost over USD1m confiscated in Myanmar


(MENAFN) According to a report from the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control on Sunday, December 27, Myanmar authorities confiscated more than 1 million stimulants value over 1.5 billion kyats (over USD1.1 million) in Kayah State.

The report stated that the combined anti-narcotic police force confiscated stimulants from a truck and seized two suspects in Loikaw Township on Saturday, December 26. The township police filed a case against the suspects and more investigation is happening.

According to the newest report published by the President's Office, a total of 1,466 drug-linked cases were recorded across Myanmar while 2,237 suspects were charged in association with drug-related cases as of December 19 this year, since the configuration of the Drug Activity Special Complaint Department in June, 2018.
