7 Nigerians arrested for stealing money from ATMs in Sri Lanka
(MENAFN- NewsIn.Asia) Colombo, December 28 (Newswire) - The Criminal Investigation Department has managed to arrest 7 Nigerians who have been illegally withdrawing money from local ATMs, Mawbima Newspaper reported.
This strong gang is believed to be consisting of about 30 people, according to Police.
Police say that the members of this gang are very experienced in fixing/ repairing ATM machines and have engaged in stealing money from ATMs for a long time.
The CID has revealed that they conducted a covet operation to nab this gang after the police received several complains that cash is being reducing from ATM machines.
A senior official from the CID has stated that they are currently questioning the 7 Nigerians under arrest to reveal more information regarding this racket and continue the operation to arrest rest of the gang members.
He has also said that they are investigating to see if any mastermind is behind this racket and also to find out and arrest if any locals are involved. (NewsWire)
