Protests against China's banking system increase


(MENAFN) Consumer complaints against China's banking industry increased 26.5 percent quarter on quarter in the July-September period of this year, with 85,097 cases got by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and its local bureaus.

The number of cases relating credit cards mounted 43.5 percent quarter on quarter to 48,406 in Q3, while cases linked to personal loans increased 33.5 percent quarter on quarter to 20,219.

Protests against wealth management products fell 59.1 percent quarter on quarter to 4,337, accounting for 5.1 percent of the sum.

The number of consumer complaints against large state-owned commercial banks was 27,278, increased 16.1 percent quarter on quarter.
