Pakistan- Mohsin Dawar confirms he is no longer part of PDM

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Member National Assembly from North Waziristan Mohsin Dawar, who is a main leader of the Pakhtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), has confirmed that he is no longer part of the alliance of opposition parties, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).

'I would like to announce that I will no longer be participating in the PDM's jalsas and meetings,' Mohsin Dawar said in a series of tweets.

He said certain parties in PDM have either explicitly or implicitly, expressed their unease with his presence in the forum. He said the unnecessary friction caused as such, takes away from the important work that we do in our own respective rights.

'We will continue to support PDM's demands for strengthening democracy and civilian supremacy. We will continue with our struggle for justice and rights for our people, for upholding the rule of law and for the supremacy of the Parliament and the Constitution,' he said.

He thanked the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for inviting him to the upcoming rally in Multan.

The PDM, which comprises of 11 opposition parties, has been staging anti-government rallies across Pakistan. Mohsin Dawar's presence at the PDM rallies was not welcomed by all opposition leaders as his party is not registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The PDM Chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who wields great say in the opposition alliance, was particularly not comfortable with Mohsin Dawar and he has reportedly shown the door to him already. That is why the PTM leader did not attend the Peshawar rally of the PDM which was arranged mainly by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The Maulana reportedly asked Mohsin Dawar in a meeting that in what capacity he was attending and addressing the opposition rallies. He said if he is attending meetings in individual capacity then his party chief must attend the rallies.

Fazlur Rehman also reportedly had some reservations about the method of the PTM politics in merged tribal districts, particularly in Waziristan.

Some other parties in the PDM were reportedly not happy with Mohsin Dawar's presence due to his stance about some critical issues.
