São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), which has had an international office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates since February 2019, has just announced it will open two new international offices, one in Cairo, Egypt and another in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The offices are part of the ABCC's internationalization project, which started last year, and their goal is facilitating trade, fostering business internationalization, and promoting cultural interchange.
El Araby signed the agreement online
According to ABCC president Rubens Hannun, the offices will help fostering the relations between the countries and regions. 'In the Riyadh office, we will work the Saudi Arabian ports as a hub, since they are extremely important and have developed; and in Cairo, in New Cairo, we want to make it a hub for the entire Africa, expanding the market to operate not only in the Arab market but growing into the Sub-Saharan Africa as well,' Hannun said. He added that, now, the ABCC will have offices in Brazil's three top Arab markets.
In the forum, a cooperation agreement was also signed between the ABCC and the Union of African Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture and Professions (UACCIAP), featuring its president Ibrahim El Araby (pictured above, with Hannun). Hannun thanked El Araby for the signing and for opening the doors of the UACCIAP. 'I want to thank you, too, for the meeting we had in February, when we made the agreement that enabled us to create the Cairo office,' Hannun said. The office will be at the headquarters of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers, which is chaired by El Araby. The launching date hasn't been announced.
