Turkey condemns Greek backing for Armenia
(MENAFN) Turkey on Saturday, October 18, criticized Greece for backing Armenia, in the present clash in the area with Azerbajijan.
Hami Aksoy, Foreign Ministry spokesperson, stated in a report that this standpoint is further evidence of "Greece"s choice for a policy of tension and escalation in its relations with Turkey, rather than good neighbourliness, dialogue and cooperation".
Aksoy said, pointing to the clash around Upper Karabakh, or Nagorno-Karabakh, a land belonging to Azerbaijan, that Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias "needs to differentiate between the occupier and the victim in Nagorno-Karabakh".
Aksoy advised Greece to criticize the unlawful Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani lands and follow the UN Security Council decisions that insists on Armenia to straight away, fully, and absolutely leave.
