(MENAFN) An official from the Myanmar Rice Federation told Xinhua on Tuesday, September 29, that Myanmar has attained its rice export goal of 2.5 million tons in over 11 months of the current fiscal year (FY) 2019-2020.
As of September 11 in the current FY, the country exported over 2.53 million tons of rice and broken rice.
Myint Lwin, leader executive officer of the federation stated "Rice export target was set to 2.5 million tons in early months of FY 2019-2020 and was later reduced to 2.4 million tons due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. But we, somehow, managed to surpass the target, thanks to the efforts exerted by all stakeholders".
