Pakistan- Man kills son, daughter-in-law over 'objectionable' viral video in Buner


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) BUNER: A man in Naway Killi area of Daggar tehsil in Buner allegedly killed his son and daughter-in-law after their objectionable video went viral on the social media.

Police shifted the bodies to district headquarters hospital where post mortem was conducted and bodies were handed over to family members.

The mother of the slain girl has accused two brothers and other members of the family of involvement in the murder of her daughter. Police have filed a case and initiated raids to arrest the accused.

Police said while quoting local residents and that the main accused was told about the objectionable video of his son and daughter-in-law by someone after Maghrib prayer in the mosque. Sources said after coming to home, the main accused took this extreme step after consultation with other family members.

Sources said the slain son of the accused was 18-year-old, while his daughter-in-law was 17-year-old. Sources said the couple had recently entered marriage.

Protest over death in custody

The relatives of a person, who died in custody of police, on Saturday staged a protest demonstration by keeping the body on the road.

The relatives of Jehanzeb, from Bagra Mirah area, alleged that he died due to police torture. They alleged that Station House Officer (SHO) Saeed Khan had arrested 50-year-old Jehanzeb six days ago. They said Jehanzeb was kept in the lock-up for five days and on sixth day the family members were informed on telephone that he was not feeling well.

The protesters said Jehanzeb was already shifted to hospital when they reached the police station. They said when they reached hospital, they were told that Jehanzeb has died. They said they were not prepared to take the body and police handed over the body forcibly and sent them home from hospital at 01:00am.

The relatives alleged that torture marks were found on Jehanzeb's body. They appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the incident and provide them justice.

On the other hand, the SHO said the death of Jehanzeb happened due to cardiac arrest. He insisted that the accused was never tortured and he was called for investigation under Section 107.
