Discovery of two-thousand-year-old ink pot in Israel
(MENAFN) The Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank (ICA) announced on Wednesday that Israeli historians uncovered a whole ink cartridge dating back to around 2,000 years ago.
The inkwell was discovered in an archeological location close to Gush Etzion Jewish settlement cluster.
the pen nib had been uncovered underneath the floor of an ancient Roman building dating back to the Second Jewish Temple, Xinhua news agency cited ICA's spokesman, Roee Salmon, as declaring.
The inkwell was made of a flat-bottomed clay cylinder with a round handle and a narrow opening with an inward-sloping rim, through which the ink and pen were inserted.
