India- Ludhiana chamber holds discussions with Water Regulator Authority
Ludhiana, Sept 16 (KNN) Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has arranged a video conference to discuss the matter of use of ground water for industry, which is pending from very long time. Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) issued various notice on drowning of water. Therefore, CICU approach Sh. Karan Avtar Singh, IAS, Chairman, Punjab Water regulation and Development Authority to get the transparency of the issues.
President, CICU S. Upkar Singh Ahuja raised pending issues with Punjab Water Regulation and Development Authority namely relaxation to MSMEs on consumption of water, development of mechanism for surface water usage, Re-Audit of Black Zones declared by NGT, allowing Rain water harvesting the Industry and request for minimizing Cess on water.
Chairman, PWRDA Karan Avtar Singh assured that Interest of MSME would be taken care.
The PWRDA is in process to form the rules & regulations for Ground Water extraction and the Chairman is to interact regularly with Industries to make the system hassle free.
