Head of the Croatian Tourist Board told national news agency Hina said on Monday that over 2.5 million tourists came to Croatia in August and a total of 20.7 million overnight stays were registered, which make up 64 percent of the figure in the previous year 2019.

Director of the Tourist Board, Kristjan Stanicic, said that the country has achieved very good results in August, in spite of the circumstances and the coronavirus pandemic.

The official was quoted saying that "our further strategy and marketing will depend on the epidemiological picture in Croatia and the surrounding countries," Stanicic said.

The Tourist Board showed that German tourists had the most overnight stays in Croatia, as there were also many tourists coming from Slovenia, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
