The health minister of Mongolia said on Wednesday that three more suspected bubonic plague cases were reported in Uvurkhangai province of the country.

Head of public relations and surveillance department of the health ministry, Dorj Narangerel, said that "three suspected cases of the plague are now under isolation at a local hospital. They are members of the same family or mother and her two children".

The suspected patients have consumed marmot meat earlier in the earlier week, according to Narangerel, urging citizens not to consume marmot meat.

Even though killing marmots is illegal in the country, many citizenshunt the rodent as a delicacy.
