Total COVID-19 cases rise by 33 to 1,609 in Jordan


(MENAFN) The overall figure of patients who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Jordan has amounted to 1,609, as 33 more infections were reported over the past 24-hour period ending on early Monday.

Twenty-nine of the newly-confirmed cases were local, whereas the remaining infections were imported according to a confirmation made by the country's ministry of health.

Up to now, the total figure of tests that have been conducted for suspected COVID-19 cases reached to 745,100, as 7,827 of them carried out in the previous 24 hours, whereas in the meantime, 10 more patients were discharged from hospitals after showing improvement.

China has supported Jordan's fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 31, China donated a batch of medical supplies to Jordan to help combat the coronavirus.
