268 Covid-19 cases and 266 recoveries in Qatar on Aug 20


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Ministry of Public Health today recorded 268 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 266 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 112,924. 

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 116,224 and there are 3107 active cases under treatment. So far, 193 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 6260 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 572273 tests. There are 44 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours.

Four patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 64.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
Adherence to physical distancing.
Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

Wearing a face mask.

Washing hands regularly.
