Uganda confirms 66 additional coronavirus infections

The Ugandan health ministry said on Sunday that 66 more patients have been diagnosed with coronavirus, which is the highest daily rise in the number of cases since 3 months, pushing the total number of cases across the country to 1,500.

The country confirmed 84 cases on the 31st of May, which is the highest daily rise so far across the nation.

16 foreign truck drivers who were diagnosed with the disease at the common border points of entry of the country were not allowed to go into the country.

The ministry said that the country has reported a total of 1,142 recoveries along with 13 deaths since the index case took place on the 21st of March.
