Iran adds 2,132 more positive COVID-19 infections


(MENAFN) Based on reports released by the official IRNA news agency, the overall figure of patients who have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Iran has risen to 328,844, as 2,132 more infections were reported over the last 24 hours as of Monday.

Meanwhile, the national death toll due to the merciless coronavirus in the Middle Eastern nation has jumped to 18,616, as 189 more lives were claimed, reporters cited Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education as announcing at a daily news update on held Monday.

The official added that the combined tally of patients who have survived the deadly infection has totaled 286,642, whereas a number of 3,992 patients are still being held under intensive medical care for their critical condition.

According to the health spokesman, 2,711,817 lab tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in Iran as of Monday.
