Jordan confirms 5 new COVID-19 cases, all from abroad


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, August 2 (Petra)-- A total of five new coronavirus cases, all imported, were recorded in Jordan on Sunday, bringing the total number to 1,213 since the start of the crisis, the Health Ministry announced.
All cases involve Jordanian truck drivers who have entered from Saudi Arabia via Al-Omari border crossing.
Five recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from Prince Hamzah Hospital on Sunday.
A total of 4,306 random tests were conducted today, bringing the total number conducted so far to 607,543.
The Ministry of Health reiterated the need to adhere to preventive measures, avoid gatherings of more than 20 people, wear facemasks, social distance, and use Aman and Sehtak mobile applications.
