Kuwait Hlt. ministry launches blood donation campaign


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, July 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait health Ministry, represented by the Central Blood Bank, has launched on Wednesday a blood donation campaign "Together Forever" for the fifth year in a row coinciding with Iraqi invasion anniversary. The event campaigned is sponsored by Health Minister Dr. Basel Al-Sabah Blood bank director Reem Al-Radwan said to KUNA that the campaign will start from the second until the third of August at 10:00 am local time in Al-Jabriya and Al-Adan centers. She confirmed that the previous campaigns were successful in increasing the number of donors, as 468 blood bags were collected in 2019 and 396 bags in 2018, expressing hope that the number will increase this year. Al-Radwan invited citizens and residents to participate in this national occasion in a practical way by donating blood to renew the love of Kuwait.
She indicated that this year's campaign will be different due to the current conditions of Coronavirus, and all health preventive measures will be taken during the start of reserving an appointment to donate to ensure the safety of donors. (end) mak.gaa
