
UAE traffic: Accidents clog Dubai-Sharjah road, police urge caution
(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Motorists faced significant delays in Dubai and Sharjah during the rush hour commute on Wednesday morning.
Dubai Police reported an accident at 7:52am through their official Twitter handle. "Traffic jam due to stalled bus on Al Khail Road before Al Meydan Bridge, towards Jebel Ali. Please be extra cautious," the police tweeted.
At 8:04am, the police warned motorists about traffic congestion due multiple accidents on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, before the Dubai-Al Ain Bridge towards Abu Dhabi. They have also suggested drivers to drive carefully and find alternative routes wherever possible.
According to Google Maps, long tailbacks were reported on Dubai-Sharjah routes, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, E11, D62, E88 among other roads in Sharjah.
Traffic build-up was reported near Jumeirah Village Circle, Al Barsha, Al Quoz 1, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area and on Shaikh Zayed Road heading towards Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club - Abu Dhabi.
Motorists are advised to follow traffic rules and take alternative routes where possible.
