(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) WANA: Three tribes in South Waziristan tribal district have refused to shift their business to Agriculture Park Wana.
The Agriculture Park Wana was formally inaugurated few days ago by Commandant Scouts Force Muhammad Wasim Altaf for restoring trade activities in the area. The inauguration ceremony was attended by tribal elders and other people in large number and it was decided that the traders of vegetable and fruit will shift their business from Wana and Rustam bazaars to Agriculture Park Wana. It was also stated that the local administration will come into action if the directions were not followed.
However, now three tribes – Ashrafkhel, Kakakhel and Mughalkhel – have refused to shift their businesses to the Agriculture Park. These tribes told media persons that they are doing business in Wana and Rustam Bazaars on their own property, therefore, they need not go to Agriculture Park. They said they have a running business in Wana and Rustam and shifting of the business will mean loss of millions of rupees.
They said they must not be forced to shift to Agriculture Park as they are happy doing business on their own property. They said if the issue was not resolved then they will form a 100-member committee to enforce a complete shutter down strike in the area.
The Agriculture Park spreading over an area of 250 kanals and having 108 shops and 75 warehouses was established in April, 2018 by the government of Pakistan with the assistance of civil administration and security forces with an aim to improve the business structure in Wana Bazaar and provide a good atmosphere for customers of different goods and services.
Commandant Muhammad Wasim Altaf had said during the inauguration ceremony that the opening of Agriculture Park is a good omen for businessmen and customers in the entire area. He said it is unfortunate that these facilities at the park could not be utilised earlier. He hoped that the Agriculture Park will bring prosperity and development in the area.
The trade union leader Haji Roshan and other tribal elders had said they were extremely happy over the opening of Wana Agriculture Park. They hailed the efforts of the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps for establishing peace in the area and helping to promote business activities.
